Tiger Woods’ Family Christmas Photo

December 3, 2009

After US Weekly released evidence of a voicemail to his mistress, Tiger Woods issued a formal public apology for his ‘transgressions’. While his future with his wife remains uncertain, it didn’t keep the couple from having their annual Christmas card photo taken today, as scheduled.

How could you Tiger? She's so much better looking than you.

Formula 1 To Return To ‘La Belle Provence’… Give Me A Break

Montreal... Again

Formula 1 action will be returning to Canadian soil come 2010, and will return season after season until at least 2014. At first Canadian motorsport enthusiasts might be stoked by the idea of having the FIA realize their error by reinstating the Gilles Villeneuve Circuit on the F1 Calendar. I ask them: Why? Why Gilles Villenueve? Why Montreal again? Certainly, Quebec was once the largest Formula 1  hotbed in Canada, but is it not time to consider our options? Why not allow another city/location the honour of hosting the Canadian Grand Prix after so many disastrous runs in Montreal. World Junior Champsionship: A celebration of second tier hockey players?

December 3, 2009

World Junior Championship

With the announcement yesterday of the 36 men…boys that were invited to the Canadian World Junior camp, we are reminded of what time of year it is. The time to priase barely legal boys as national heroes, the humanity of it all. Don’t get me wrong I am glued to the television throughout the holiday just like millions of other Canadians. However, as I was going over the Canadian invitees, I thought of who was left off the list and I was reminded of such names as Tavares, Stamkos, Kane and even Del Zotto, who are all playing full-time in the NHL. Could you imagine Stamkos, who is tearing up the NHL, playing against 17 and 18 year olds in the WJC? It wouldn’t even be funny. The sad thing is that the list of Canadian players that won’t be made available for the tournament is even longer and include Ryan O’Reilly, Tyler Myers and Matt Duchene. While there are other countries that will be left without some top players including Zach Bogosian (USA), Dmitry Kulikov (Russia), Victor Hedman (Sweden) and possibly Nikita Filatov (Russia), the Canadians are by far at the largest disadvantage when it comes to giving up underage players (U20) to the NHL.

The Perfect Storm?

December 3, 2009

Drew Brees and Peyton Manning

There have only been two teams in NFL history to record perfect regular seasons (1972 Miami Dolphins and the 2007 New England Patriots). This year, there is a good chance that tally could double as two teams are nearing perfection. The New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts are five wins away from entering the record books. Both teams have relatively easy schedules remaining, and as such, perfection is within grasp. Both squads are very similar, comprised of high flying offences led by all-star quarterbacks coupled with respectible defences. The Saints reside in the NFC while the Colts reside in the AFC which means there is strong possibility of Super Bowl matchup of these opposing conference titans.
