Iverson Contemplating Future
Retirement?…We’re not talking about the game…We talking ’bout retirement? Yes Allen, thanks to you, we aren’t talking about the game and instead we are all talking about your supposed retirement. As many of you may have heard by now Allen Iverson has apparently retired from the NBA, after having his playing time in Memphis cut. Or that’s what he wants us to believe. Let me paint the picture that I see.
During free agency Iverson’s stock was very low and Memphis was the only offer that brought about a decent pay day. So Iverson took it. He took it straight to the bank. However, when the season started, Iverson found himself starting the game on the bench. For a player like Iverson, that kind of stuff doesn’t sit well. So what did he do? He threw a hissy-fit like a little girl and left the team. From the outside it seemed that Memphis had enough of Iverson’s shenanigans and decided to cut their losses. I believe that it is most likely the case that they mutually agreed to terminate the contract.
